I wanted a job which was going to be challenging and different everyday, a job which was going to keep me on my toes. I always knew I wouldn’t be able to do a 9-5 job sitting behind a desk and the police certainly isn’t that.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
It’s probably the people I work with. We have a great team and all get on really well. It’s brilliant to be part of a highly motivated and successful team. You have to keep your wits about you though because there is lots of practical jokes that go on!!
What was your favourite Road Wars moment that you were in?
Any episode where I don’t say something stupid, fall over or mess up in some way!!!
What was your favourite Road Wars moment of another officer’s?
I don’t have a favourite but it’s generally where one of the team say something stupid, fall over or mess up in some way!!!
What was it like being followed by a camera crew?
It was a bit strange at first but you soon get used to it. After they’ve been in the back of your car for 6 months, they almost become part of the crew. The 3 camera men we’ve had have all been a really good laugh and now it’s strange when they are not there.
If you weren’t a police officer, what do you think you would be doing?
If I had my way I would be a professional rugby player.
Which of the cars did you like driving the best? (thinking Omegas vs. Vectras etc!)
The Omega wins hands down and we’ve still got ours. It’s one of the last ones on the fleet.
