What was your call sign on Road Wars?
TV33What’s your nickname?
DelboyWhy did you become a police officer?
I have always ridden motorcycles and a dream since childhood was to ride a policebike. First thing was, I had to join the Police (D'oh!) then join the 'Traffic dept', then manage to pass an advanced motorcycle course...managed it all and never looked back! What’s your favourite part of the job?
Putting nasty people away.
What was your favourite Road Wars moment that you were in?
I think the part where Pat and I were looking for a burglar who was still on the premises, I managed to get into the house where as Pat's 'athletic' frame prevented him from doing so, I eventually found him (the burglar, not Pat) hiding in a coal shed and on walking back to the car he said, "I'm playing 'hide and seek' with my mates, I done nothing wrong!" I replied with "well, you've won this game, they'll never find you where you're going"
What was your favourite Road Wars moment of another officer’s?
I think the frustration shown by Pat after a pursuit on the A4 in Langley whereby he had a 'head-to-head' with another vehicle and his clutch went....I think the frustration was shared by all.....personally, I would have kicked the car harder, in places where it hurt, and with more venom......I said that last bit out loud didn't I?What was it like being followed by a camera crew?
You got used to it, they were very professional, they stood so far back you forgot they were there after a while! If you weren’t a police officer, what do you think you would be doing?
Probably still working at British Airways and probably still snoring.Which of the cars did you like driving the best? (thinking Omegas vs. Vectras etc!)
The 2.8 Vectra is my preferred mode of transport. It's more responsive, and a car that takes quite a hammering.Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that not many people know (that’s printable!!)
Me? Interesting??!! Hmmmm, let me think...I went to No10 to receive a bravery award from Mr Blair........(that bit was boring but the p*ss up in the evening with the cast of 'The Bill' was wicked!)And - a few bonus questions to celebrate the site's first anniversary...
