What was your call sign on RW?
I started off working with Charlie as TV32 but then with Flipper in TV33
What’s your nickname?
Everyone just calls me Mish - very original!!! If I get called Michelle it normally means I'm in trouble!
Why did you become a police officer?
I always wanted to join the police and love the variety of the work we do. When I go to work I don't know what the day will bring. The job can be challenging but also very rewarding. I always knew I wanted to be on Roads Policing and joining the team was the icing on the cake.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
I really enjoy it all as we work on a small team and have a really good laugh. As the team is from all over the Force it's great when we all get together for an Operation and get the result at the end. Putting real baddies away is very satisfying.
What was your favourite RW moment that you were in?
Favourite or most embarrassing? The pursuit which opened series 6 is one I won't forget. It went on for quite some time around Slough and although we didn't get the driver at the time, he has since been located and dealt with. Embarrassing - well, the producers haven't been mean enough to show it but when I stopped a Polish car and spoke at length with the driver I was happy I'd done all the checks. It wasn't until I got back in our car that I realised it was left hand drive and dealt with the passenger. It had been a long shift!!
What was your favourite RW moment of another officer’s?
There are loads you don't get to see but a classic was when Simon came to face to face with the man eating spider in a shed when searching a garden for stolen property. Apparently it had tattoos and everything but if I could bottle that scream!!!!!
What was it like being followed by a camera crew?
It was a bit strange at first, but you soon get used to it. They become part of the crew and we have a good laugh.
If you weren’t a police officer, what do you think you would be doing?
I would probably be a personal trainer or something along those lines as I trained as a fitness instructor.
Which of the cars did you like driving the best?
The Omega was fun to drive and certainly handled well. I probably prefer the Vectra as it is a tadge quicker and pretty comfortable. We still have a petrol Vectra so enjoying it while we can!
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that not many people know:
I won a half marathon in 2000. Boring but true.
